The 38-year-old dancer is set to be part of the show's line-up later this year, meaning she'll become the longest-serving female professional on the BBC programme, and Karen feels proud of her longevity.

Alongside a series of throwback video clips, Karen - who has been partnered with the likes of Will Young, Chris Ramsey and Jamie Laing - wrote on Instagram: "I am absolutely bursting with pride and happiness that I can now announce I am confirmed for my TENTH series of @bbcstrictly .

"I don’t talk too much on here like this but I’m beyond overwhelmed to say that I’m now officially the longest running female pro on the best show on the planet [lightening emoji] .

"I have adored every celebrity partner I’ve worked with. We’ve laughed, we’ve worked our butts off, we’ve danced for the nation and we’ve had fun every step of the way.

"Thank you to every single Strictly Come Dancing supporter for the love you pour into this show year on year. We do this for you [heart emoji] (sic)"

The show's female line-up will include Karen, Oti Mabuse, Janette Manrara, Amy Dowden, Dianne Buswell, Karen, Katya Jones, Luba Mushtuk, Nadiya Bychkova and Nancy Xu.

Meanwhile, the male line-up features Aljaz Skorjanec, Anton Du Beke, Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez, Graziano Di Prima, Johannes Radebe and Neil Jones.

Sarah James, the executive producer of BBC Studios, can't wait for the long-running show to return.

She said: "We are so thrilled to be welcoming back our incredible line-up of professional dancers for 2021.

"Their passion and dedication for 'Strictly' shone through more than ever last year as they all sacrificed so much to deliver an unforgettable series during unprecedented and challenging times.

"With so much talent returning to the ballroom, the 2021 series promises more show-stopping choreography, memorable performances and world-class dancing."
