The 'Love Island' hunk was hoping to have the brunette beauty, her mother and her father travel down from their home in Denbigh, North Wales, later this month to spend Christmas Day (25.12.17) with his family in Essex, but he'll have to rethink the arrangements for special day now that him and his co-stat have decided to separate.

A source told The Sun Online: "Kem had grand plans for his first Christmas with Amber, and her mum, dad and family were going to his to celebrate it. But it's all gone up in smoke."

The couple - who were together for four months after meeting and falling in love while taking part in the dating show - announced their separation earlier this week, blaming their split on their busy schedules, but claimed they were determined to remain friends.

They said in a statement: "With sadness, we've decided to separate.

"We fell in love in the villa and want to thank all the fans of the show for supporting us.

"Our schedules made it difficult. We'll remain good friends."

Some people believe Kem's on-going 'Dancing on Ice' gig may have been the reason as the 20-year-old hunk has spent almost every day training on the rink for the reboot.

Alex Bowen - who won 'Love Island' in 2016 - said: "I think their split is shocking because they won the show and everyone thought they were the best couple. But you don't know what you've got to handle on the outside. You don't know how if you'll be living on different sides of the country, you don't know how much work you'll be getting. The fact Kem got 'Dancing On Ice' - that will be taking up a lot of his time."

Amber, 21, has since taken to her social networking sites to thank her fans for their support.

She said: "Would just like to say I am incredibly overwhelmed by everyone's lovely messages and comments. The love and support from you all has been absolutely heartwarming. Thank you so much (sic)"
