Kian Egan rejected an opportunity to take part in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here in 2012.

The 33-year-old singer was crowned the King of the Jungle in the last series of the Australian-based show last month, but he admits he was given the opportunity to go on the programme in 2012 when his band Westlife went their separate ways.

He explained: "When Westlife ended I was asked to do it straight away. And I said no because I kind of felt it was so fast after the band ended to go out and do that type of thing. And then I'd just done the first season of 'The Voice' in Ireland and I really enjoyed doing that and then I had a good bit of time off where I was kind of just chilling out at home."

The hunky blonde - who has 23-month-old son Koa with his wife Jodi Albert - finally agreed to take part in the 13th series of the ITV reality show last year, but he admits he didn't have any pre-programme nerves because he enjoys experiencing nature.

Speaking on Ireland's 'The Late Late Show', he said: "Then it kind of came back around again and they asked me again and myself and Jodi started talking about it and it just kind of felt natural. I mean anybody who knows me will know I'm a very adventurous guy, I'm a very outdoorsy guy, so the idea of going and living in the jungle to me isn't a big deal."
