'The X Factor' will see a return from Leona Lewis.

The 28-year-old pop star, who won the ITV singing competition in 2006, will perform her new single 'One More Sleep' - lifted from her new festive album 'Christmas, with Love' - during the live shows in coming weeks.

She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I will be performing in a few weeks. I can't wait. I'm excited!"

Meanwhile, Leona - who was mentored to victory by show creator and former judge Simon Cowell - also revealed she will be part of X Factor's big 10th anniversary shows this weekend and met with contestant Sam Bailey on Monday (18.11.13) to give her advice ahead of her performance.

The pop wannabes will cover songs made famous by past 'X Factor' winners and runners-up.

Leona said last week: "I'm actually going to meet the person singing my song. I'm going to go and talk to them, have a little chat with them. I'm really excited. I think it's cool.

"People have sung my songs on the show before and it's always so surreal knowing you've been on the show and someone is singing a song you've released since then."

The 'Bleeding Love' hitmaker has sold millions of records since her 'X Factor' victory and as one of the show's biggest success stories she thinks it's important for contestants to concentrate on their performances and avoid reading fan reaction.

Asked if she had a favourite contestant, Leona explained: "I try to not say my favourite because I remember being in the show and the contestants read stuff, you'll see what people are saying online, and I think that's the worst thing to do. Don't ever read comments ... just don't do it to yourself! I don't like to say in case someone picks up on it. I don't think it's fair."

Leona's new single 'One More Sleep' is out on December 1 and her album, 'Christmas, with Love', is out on December 2.
