The 23-year-old recruitment consultant from Chelsea is said to have grown close to the series five star - who is now with Luke Mabbott - in Newquay before she rose to fame on the ITV2 dating show in 2019.

An insider told MailOnline: "James is in final talks with producers and they're really keen on signing him this year.

"He's cheeky, fun and handsome – and will be a sure-fire hit with the female contestants, while he's also on the lookout for his dream girl."

Meanwhile, Alexis Bailey - a fire-eating beauty queen - is also set to head into the villa this summer.

The 21-year-old model - who was a Miss Manchester runner-up two years ago - is said to be looking for love, although she recently came out of a love-term relationship.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "She loves sex and is always talking about it. She’s very open about it but is incredibly likeable and loves to party.

“There are no limits as far as she is concerned and she very much wears her heart on her sleeve. It’s fair to say she will bring some heat to the villa.”

ITV's Kevin Lygo has insisted that the show - presented by Laura Whitmore, 35 - will go ahead this summer and said a change of location would encourage producers to be more "inventive" if COVID-19 restrictions mean the usual Majorca setting isn't possible.

He recently explained: "You just have to adapt. When we did 'Big Brother' in the summer there would be days when they were all sunbathing out in the garden and then it rained a bit and they were all inside.

"You’ve got to have more heaters around the (outdoor) beds and producers have to be more inventive with tasks and games.”

Amber Gill, 23, and Greg O’Shea, 25, won the show in summer 2019 and it was axed last year due to the pandemic.
