The acid-tongued 'Strictly Come Dancing' judge previously claimed the show was "nothing like 'Love Island'", calling contestants on the ITV2 dating show "fame-seekers with no discernible talent".

But Samira has hit back, telling OK!: “I just thought, 'I’m a trained dancer and I’ve been dancing since the age of 12!'

"We’re not stupid, how dare you just typecast people?”

Samira, 25, competed in the fourth series of 'Love Island' in 2018, departing the villa after 40 days.

Back in 2019, Craig, 56, said: "Love Island is for people who aren’t celebrities, who’ve done nothing in their life and are trying to be someone and get something to be famous.

"But 'Strictly' is meant to showcase people with talents in acting, singing, sports, journalism...not fame-seekers with no discernible talent."

Before appearing on the hit ITV2 dating show, Samira was an actress in London's West End and had performed in shows such as 'Dreamgirls' and ABBA jukebox musical 'Mamma Mia!', and she has called on the BBC bosses to let her have a go on the Saturday night favourite.

She joked: "I mean, I think I’d probably win [laughs]! No, but if anything, all these things make me work harder.

"Kill them with kindness or kill them with success, that’s my mantra at the minute.”

Since leaving the villa, Samira has competed on 'The X Factor: Celebrity' and 'Celebrity Karaoke' club.

In 2016, she had a small role in the Emma Watson film 'Beauty and the Beast.'
