'The Apprentice' star, 36, has revealed she suffered the initial injury more than a year ago and it left her with a fracture and she also has two discs bulging onto nerves causing her intense pain and leaving her struggling to walk - and the health crisis forced her to cancel a planned trip to the Maldives so she can recover at home.

Luisa shared a picture from her hospital bed on Instagram and later opened up about her back issues during an appearance on her 'LuAnna' podcast with Anna Williamson. Anna said of her co-star: "She's not in the Maldives, she's in bed, where she has genuinely not moved for eight days ... She's broken her back."

Luisa went on to explain: "I've been in bed for eight days, I am feeling better. I'm not in as much pain anymore because I basically have really good meds, all prescribed, but I actually broke my back a year ago and I just didn't realise it at the time.

"That isn't what's causing my pain but it doesn't help my situation that you can still see this fractured thing, a fractured back.

"I've also got two discs bulging onto two nerves which weirdly is on the left-side but [It's on] my whole right leg. I basically can't walk that well because of the nerves in my leg - It feels like I've got a wooden leg."

She added of her cancelled holiday: "So I haven't gone to the Maldives because I can't fly."

Luisa later returned to Instagram to update her followers revealing she has spent nearly two weeks in bed and confessed she spent most of that time online shopping.

She shared a video showing piles of boxes, adding: "This is what happens when you just spend all your time in bed. And the worst thing was ... my husband

saw it all."
