The 'Boyfriend' hitmaker, 25, is the latest star to join the upcoming ITV show with music mogul Simon and Craig David.

An insider told The Sun newspaper: “Mabel is somebody the producers have been in touch with for a while now. They think she would bring something really fresh to the panel.

“There have been initial discussions, but no final decision has been made yet.

“Bagging a hot star like Mabel is a real coup for the series.”

It's been claimed there could also be a fourth judge added to the panel.

The programme will be presented by Maya Jama and will see musical acts perform in front of the judges.

Each night, the winning act will be given a choice - to cash out and leave with a modest amount or to remain in the contest and compete against other acts in the next show where they could land a £500,000 jackpot or lose everything.

Garage King, Craig, previously suggested that he would be up for judging alongside Simon, 62, on 'The X Factor' but the show was axed earlier this year.

The 40-year-old singer said: If Simon came to me with that position, I would definitely think about it.

“I think I could mentor people in a good way and bring something new that hasn’t been seen before.

“I’ve been in the industry for almost 20 years.

“I’ve had highs and lows and really believe I could offer some great advice."

The programme is due to be filmed in the autumn.
