Mario Falcone and Lucy Mecklenburgh's confrontation

Mario Falcone admits he deserved it when Lucy Mecklenburgh threw red wine over him.

The Italian stallion looked stunned when his ex-girlfriend drenched him on Wednesday night's (05.06.13) 'The Only Way is Essex' special, 'The Only Way is Marbs', after a blazing row between the pair over their recent break up.

When asked if he deserved the soaking, Mario wrote on the official 'TOWIE' Twitter: "Yeah, probably. It was for all the girls out there! GIRL POWER!

"I threw the shirt away. I was going to keep it as a memento though."

The couple recently split following allegations Mario had cheated on Lucy, and the lothario added fuel to the fire on Wednesday's episode when he suggested the brunette beauty - who is reportedly dating co-star Dan Osborne - had been having a "one-night stand" during the 'TOWIE' holiday in Marbella, Spain.

A furious Lucy responded angrily to the jibe and told Mario he makes her "skin crawl" before throwing wine over him and walking off.

Following the incident, the tailor insists he will always "love" Lucy, but he thinks the former couple are both to blame for their split.

He tweeted: "I'll always love and care for Lucy, but I think we're better going our separate ways.

"Personally I think we're both to blame. It takes two to tango!"

The eventful episode also saw the end of Joey Essex and Sam Faiers' relationship when he dumped her during an emotional confrontation, and Mario admits he even came close to shedding a tear when the pair called it a day.

He wrote: "I think it's genuinely upsetting. I love Joey and I have a lot of admiration for Sam."

However, there is no love lost between Mario and his co-star and Little Chris - who he fell out with after his former best friend didn't back him up following rumours he had been unfaithful - and the Italian hunk insists there is more chance of him becoming Prime Minister than reuniting their friendship.

When asked if he and Chris would ever be mates again, he replied: "Not at all. I think there's more chance of me being PM of this country than becoming friends with Chris again"
