'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' contestant Matthew Wright has a spider phobia.

The 'Wright Show' presenter has been reduced to tears at the thought of having to share the jungle with the eight-legged creatures next week, but wants to crack the fear and he's determined to stick out his time in the jungle.

A friend told The Sun newspaper: "Lots of people go on to 'I'm A Celebrity' a bit frightened of spiders or snakes. But Matthew really does have a serious case of arachnophobia.

"It's one of the reasons he's doing the show - it's a problem that has been getting worse as he gets older and it is really starting to affect his life so he's determined to crack this.

"He loves camping and fishing so in all other respects he's going to be a great campmate. But every time he thinks about the spiders, he panics.

"He's been having nightmares and has even burst into tears at the thought of having a spider on his skin."

Meanwhile, the jungle contestants could be faced with a washed-out camp as a three-day storm is expected to hit the Gold Coast - where the show is filmed - over the next week.

A source said: "This is storm season, but the bosses are concerned because forecasts are predicting it will be worse than ever."

Stars set to be part of this year's line-up include Westlife hunk Kian Egan, snooker legend Steve Davis, Emmerdale's Lucy Pargeter and 'The Only Way is Essex' lothario Joey Essex.

'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' will return to screens on Sunday (17.11.13).
