The ‘Nova Jones’ star is loving being on the star-studded BBC One Latin and ballroom competition - where she is partnered with newcomer pro Carlos Gu, 28 - despite it being “more challenging” than she thought it would be.

The 21-year-old television personality told Hello! magazine: “It's been absolutely amazing. It's everything I thought it would be and more. It's definitely more challenging than I expected, but it's so rewarding and topping the leaderboard felt unbelievable.

"I could tell Carlos was going to be the best teacher because he can lead. But he can also do the follower part so he knows exactly where I should be. He's a tough teacher, but I feel like that makes me a better dancer."

Molly - who, along with Carols, topped the leaderboard last week with their Quickstep to Beyonce hit ‘Love on Top’ with a score of 34 from the judging panel of Craig Revel-Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke - hopes she can continue her streak but knows she can only give her “best”.

She said: "As we've done well two weeks in a row, it's kind of expected that we keep it up, but we can only go out there every week and do our best and hope that it pays off."

Carlos - who also spoke to the magazine - admitted to loving working with the ex 'Britain's Got Talent' star and detailing their good luck ritual.

He said: “This is the first time I have taught somebody who'd never danced before, but she is easy to teach and get along with. She reacts fast and works hard.

"Before we go on, we hug each other and when we finish our performance, we hug again. We're just experiencing the joy of the moment.”

Carlos gushed about how “proud” he was of his good friend and fellow new addition to the lineup of professional dancers, Nancy Xu, who is paired up with ex ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’ star Will Mellor.

He said: "I cried on the first week, where she danced her jive with Will, as it was my first time seeing her performing live. I can't tell you how proud I am of her."
