Patsy Kensit reveals difficulties of dating after engagement ends

The 55-year-old actress - who recently decided to end her romance with 56-year-old millionaire Patric Cassidy - admitted it is hard to meet people at her age and she also wants to focus on her work.

She told The Mirror: "At my age I don’t meet people as I’m normally in bed at 9pm.

"On the show I just finished ['Death in Paradise'] they were going to the bar and I was like, ‘I can’t. I have got to be in bed my 8pm.

"I have got to wash my face due to the humidity out there. And I have got to be up at 4am.’

“By the end of it they didn’t bother asking me. The thought of going to a bar or looking for love… but these things happen when you least expect it. I got set up on a blind date so there you go. I use the word companionship.

“I’m not ruling the intimacy side of things out but relationships are different at this age and it is good and OK. You have got to be hopeful and grateful.”

Meanwhile, it was revealed that Patsy decided to end her engagement after realising it would not last in the long-term.

An insider told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "The whirlwind romance has come to a halt and the couple have decided to go their separate ways.

"They have a lot of love for one another, but ultimately, she knew that they couldn’t make it work in the long-term so felt it was best not to move forward with their relationship.

"Patsy has lots of exciting work opportunities at the moment, and she is throwing herself into her career."

The break-up has also been confirmed by Patsy's spokesman.

He said: "I can confirm they have split, and would appreciate that she is given her privacy regarding the matter. She is currently very busy working."

Patsy has previously been married four times.
