Paul Hollywood has opened up about his affair, and has said it was the "biggest mistake" of his life.
'The Great British Bake Off' star romanced celebrity chef Marcela Valladolid when he went to make a US version of the show, leading to his split with Alexandra, his wife of 15 years, but he is now hoping to win her back.
Paul, 47, told BBC Radio 5 Live: "I did have an affair in America with my co-judge and it was something which ... it was the biggest mistake of my life because actually I still love my wife.
"We're talking, we are working to get back together but it's going to take time.
"I was shocked about the whole thing kicking off the way it did ... but I deserved it and I've taken it. It was my punishment."
Paul got close to 35-year-old divorcee Marcela when they filmed 'The American Baking Competition' but after poor ratings and public uproar over their romance, they parted in September.
Paul has previously admitted splitting from Alexandra had made their 11-year-old son, Joshua, unwell.
Alexandra has previously said of the split: "I feel utterly bewildered and incredibly sad. Paul went to America and when he came back everything was different, everything had changed.
"I'm distraught, completely devastated, but I don't want or need revenge. I just want us both to be able to rebuild our lives for the sake of our son, because he is the most important person in our lives."
