Peter Barlow and Tina McIntyre

Peter Barlow and Tina McIntyre

Peter Barlow and Tina McIntyre are to lock lips on Coronation Street, on the day of his wedding.

The factory co-owner - played by Chris Gascoyne - throws his wedding to fiancée Carla Connor (Alison King) into doubt tonight (04.12.13) when he shares a smooch with the beautiful barmaid (Michelle Keegan) just before he's scheduled to take his nuptials.

Viewers will have to tune in to see whether Peter goes through with his wedding or not following his embrace with Tina, and Chris admits even recovering alcoholic Peter doesn't know what he is going to do until the very last minute.

He said: "On the actual day he is very nervous and apprehensive. Tina tries to stop him before he goes through with the wedding. She says all the things that are in Peter's mind but he is not intelligent enough to think them for himself.

"Will Peter go through with the wedding? I think he loves Carla and I think he would like to but I think only at the moment of the vows, will he know in his heart whether he wants to do this or not. So we will have to wait and see!"

Peter is feeling the pressure of being with Carla because the pair keep arguing, and Chris admits his character sees something in Tina that he doesn't have with the factory boss.

Speaking to the official 'Coronation Street' website, he added: "I think Peter is feeling very apprehensive in the run up to the wedding. He wants to go through with it, he loves Carla but there is something in the way and she is called Tina.

"There is a lot of tension between Peter and Carla at the moment and actually she has done nothing wrong. She has done everything and he has done absolutely nothing.

"The tension between Peter and Tina is starting to get very high now. She is offering something that Carla can't, or he thinks that she is. He's totally conflicted. He is a completely split man."

Whatever happens, both Michelle and Chris are to leave the show next year with Tina set to be killed off in a whodunnit storyline.
