The ‘Hot Right Now’ hitmaker has had to pull out of a number of filming slots due to other work commitments, including filling in for Nicole Scherzinger on Season 11 of the US version of the celebrity talent show alongside Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, 50, Ken Jeong, 54 and Robin Thicke, 46.

Nicole, 45, can't complete her judging duties due to her landing the role as Norma Desmond in the London West End musical ‘Sunset Boulevard’.

UK judges Davina McCall, 55, Mo Gilligan, 35, and Jonathan Ross, 62, will be guessing "whose behind the mask" with a different panellist each week.

A source told The Sun newspaper's TV Biz column: "Rita is a massive part of 'The Masked Singer' family alongside Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and Davina McCall, and she will be missed.

“The show is a huge part of Rita’s life but her hectic schedule means she is going to miss a couple of shows in the upcoming series.

“Filming on the new instalment begins in the coming weeks, and Rita is going to be there when she can.

“The show’s bosses are lining up some stellar celebrity guests to hold the fort while Rita is off, and they can’t wait to surprise fans with who they have booked.”

The 32-year-old pop star - who is married to director Taika Waititi, 48, in an intimate ceremony - admitted she was “gutted” not to be able to be there for the full run of the show.

She said: “I’m gutted to be missing some episodes on the new season, but keeping my seat warm are some great guest panellists who I’m told are also super competitive and will keep the others on their toes, especially Jonathan! Bring it on.”
