The 41-year-old actress - who is best known for her roles as Roxy Mitchell in 'EastEnders' - became the fourth celebrity to be booted from the ITV reality show on Tuesday (04.12.18) after losing out on the public vote.

Rita joins TV legend Noel Edmonds, 'Hollyoaks' star Malique Thompson-Dwyer, and 'Coronation Street' actress Sair Khan in leaving the infamous camp, after the public began voting for who they want to save at the end of last week.

Just before leaving the show, Rita was able to hear from her mother as the camp mates took part in a game to win letters from home, with Rita's note explaining how "proud" her mother is of her achievements.

Nick Knowles read out Rita's letter, which read: "I never doubted that you would grab this challenge by the horns and give it everything you've got, and even though I know what you're capable of, I'm still amazed by what you've coped with. I'm SO proud of you and you are an inspiration to your children.
"I love how Noel and Harry said that they're scared of you - Harry even said that any critters you come up against would run away from you! By the way, I'd pay attention to what he says if I were you - his tactical skills are legendary and you never know when they might come in useful.
"Everybody at home is cheering you on and behind you all the way. Can't wait to give you a big hug (after you've had a bath of course!)"

But Rita was left unable to take part in the game - which saw the camp mates use just their fingertips to pass eggs along a chicken coop and into a basket at the other end - herself, after she was taken ill shortly before the game began.

After being voted off, she explained to hosts Holly Willoughby and Dec Donnelly that she had " a mini hypoglycaemic episode" the night before, which is triggered by low blood sugar.

Meanwhile, the actress took part in the Bush Tucker Trial which was aired on Monday's (03.12.18) show alongside The Vamps musician James McVey, and together they had bagged eight out of a possible nine stars for camp.
