The 'Confessions of a Window Cleaner' actor appears alongside Sue - who is best known for playing Marlene Boyce in 'Only Fools and Horses' - in the upcoming Channel 5 show and Robin, 71, has revealed that he first knew Sue, 72, when they went to nearby schools, and although he was desperate to catch her eye she never noticed him.

He said: "Our schools were neighbouring and Sue was the first girl I ever noticed when I was 12. I walked up the hill every day behind her for four years. I was obsessed - and she never noticed me!"

Sue joked that Robin was her first "stalker", whilst admitting that they could have dated when they were teenagers but she was too "snooty" to go out with him.

In a joint interview with the Daily Star newspaper, she said: "Robin was my first stalker! He was younger than me so why would I notice him? The opportunity was there for us to have quite a lot of fun in our teenage years if I hadn't been such a snooty old thing."

Channel 5 show 'Madame Blanc Mysteries' follows antiques dealer Jean White who is searching for answers surrounding the mysterious death of her husband.

Former 'Coronation Street' actress Sally Lindsay has penned the script and stars as Jean, who takes to her and her man's cottage in the French village of Montagne Sainte-Victoire only to learn everything has been pawned off following his death.

Robin and Sue play wealthy couple Judith and Jeremy who live in a chateau at the edge of the village.

Sue was absolutely delighted to find out that Sally, 48, had written the role especially for her.

She said: "I feel terribly honoured. The scripts are so clever. We both thought they were absolutely brilliant and unlike anything else."
