The former 'EastEnders' star - who has played Grant Mitchell on and off since 1990 - shared videos of his swollen face after he disturbed a nest in his loft.

In the first video on Twitter, he quipped: "I look like Mick Jagger, don't I?

"Well that's what happens if you get stung by about three or four wasps in the nasal and lip area. Be careful with those critters!

"Don't go upsetting them by opening up a loft space without asking their permission first."

Alongside the clip, Ross posted emojis and suggested some fans "might think" he deserved it.

He later went to the doctors for some treatment to "bring it down a bit", and sang a line from The Rolling Stones' hit '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction' as a playful nod to his swollen face.

In another clip, Ross - who recently shined a light on the UK's health service during the coronavirus pandemic with two-part documentary 'On The NHS Frontline' - revealed he was back home and recovering, but urged his fans not to "mess with nature".

He said: "So I just wanna say a huge thanks to Doctor Lettuce for sorting me out.

"Obviously I'm still like a massive Botox victim. But that just goes to show what happens if you mess with nature.

"I had no idea when I was opening the hatch there was actually a wasps nest on top of it.

"I'm very lucky that they only stung me around my nose, in my nose and my top lip. It could've been far worse. But thank you very much again to the lovely, lovely NHS."
