The TV drama series has returned to the BBC and Adam is thrilled that some of his family members - including his 14-year-old daughter Scarlett - have secured starring roles in the show.

Ryan - who has Scarlett with actress Tina O'Brien - said on Instagram: "What a time to be alive. Tonight, BBC One, 8pm, Waterloo Road, my little brother Adam, my little nephew Teddy and eldest daughter Scarlett take over the TV screen together as a family.

"Talk about a proud moment for the Thomases! Wow. I can't wait for you guys to see it. We watched it together as a family."

'Waterloo Road' has previously kickstarted the careers of many famous actors and actresses, including 'Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor and Rege-Jean Page, as well as 'Emily In Paris' star Lucien Laviscount and `'Victoria' actress Jenna Coleman.

Adam Thomas - who plays Donte Charles in the school-based drama series - previously revealed that his niece was set to join the cast of 'Waterloo Road', admitting that he was filled with a sense of pride.

He said: "Filled with glee, the proud uncle began: 'I can't believe I'm actually saying this. I feel like I'm working for Marvel, I can never say too much about what is going on...

"But what I can tell you is my little niece Scarlett Thomas is going to be joining the cast of Waterloo Road. She doesn't know it yet so congratulations Scarlett.

"Only joking. She's playing my daughter, I really don't know how that's gonna be."
