The 31-year-old television presenter has made a name for himself with the BBC through presenting 'Ready, Steady, Cook' and 'Strictly Come Dancing' spin-off show 'It Takes Two'.

And he has now landed a new quiz show with the broadcaster, after recently filming the pilot in Scotland.

'The Squeeze' will reportedly see Rylan put contestants through their paces with a mixture of tough questions and physical challenges.

A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre TV column: "Beeb bosses trialled the show a few years ago but they didn't find the right personality to carry it.

"Now they know larger-than-life Rylan is perfect. Producers think he's just the guy for the show."

Whilst Rylan added: "I've just flown back from Scotland after filming it and it went really, really well. It's very early days."

Meanwhile, the former 'X Factor' star brought 'Ready, Steady, Cook' back to screens earlier this month, 10 years after the original show ended.

The series will air through 20 episodes, with a focus on minimising food waste, reducing plastic, and budget cooking for the family.

Rylan has taken to the show's eco-credentials with his very own important role.

He said: "It's literally been amazing. I'm Head of Bins on the set. So we've got the three bins - your mixed recycling, general waste then food waste. I'm like, 'No that goes in that bin!'

"We show how the food is coming in as well. Nothing is wrapped in plastic, it's all wrapped in paper."
