The 32-year-old TV presenter joked he didn't sign the 'Loose Women' panellists up for the first star-studded series because he knew Janet would be able to "bully" the show's bosses into commissioning a second season.

Speaking on the lunch-time show, he said: "I'm telling you now, if 'Celebrity Supermarket Sweep' comes back for series two and you two want to do it there will be a Janet Street-Porter and Denise Welch team.

"Janet, there is a reason I didn't have you on series one and it is because I want series two and I know you'll bully the right people."

But Janet joked she was "foaming at the mouth" when she discovered some of her fellow panellists had been given the nod over her.

Janet quipped: "I was so upset that I heard I wasn't on it and Linda [Robson] and Andrea [McLean] had been chosen over me.

"I was stalking the corridor of this studio, foaming at the mouth. I rang my agent. What have I done wrong in my career?"

Denise said: "I get asked to do loads of these types of shows and I say, 'I don't like that one, I'm not interested.'

"But I said, 'I know they'll ask me to do 'Supermarket Sweep', because I know Rylan loves me.' Nothing."

But Rylan admitted he was "thrilled" to have 'Loose Women' panellists Andrea and Nadia Sawalha - who he had a crush on during his younger years - on the show, and he had to have Linda and Lesley Joseph on the programme because he wanted to land a spot on 'Birds of a Feather'.

During the episode, Linda promised him a role on the sitcom if it returns for a full series next year, after it was confirmed the programme has a Christmas special in the can after filming finished yesterday (03.11.20).

She said: "If we go to series we want you in it.

"You could be my long-lost son."

He said: "That is a verbal contract. You've said it on the telly, it's happening. I'm in!"
