Sheridan Smith is feeling "broody" after appearing on 'Who Do You Think You Are?'

The 33-year-old actress took part in a traumatic search for her ancestors while appearing on the BBC One show and after finding records of her banjo-playing great

great-grandfather, she revealed her desire to have children of her own.

According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: "I'm so proud of how talented he was. This link is so special to me.

"I feel like I want to learn to play, I feel like I have to. It's almost compulsory now.

"The gene has been passed down through my great great grandfather.

"It's made me want to learn to play all sorts of instruments - and maybe have a baby of my own.

"I'm maybe feeling a little broody right now."

Sheridan - who was born and raised in Lincolnshire - discovered that her not-so-distant relative had been a star in his own right, performing to upper class audiences in sold out venues.

However, the 'Mrs. Biggs' star - who comes from a long line of performers - was left devastated as historians told how he lost all his money, his wife, and his four children when he was charged with attempted arson.

She said: "I did not see any of this coming. It's like it was a curse.

"It's heartbreaking. I didn't expect to have such a reaction and to feel so immediately attached but he's the reason I'm here."
