Natalie Holt eggs Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell was egged during the 'Britain's Got Talent' live final.

Natalie Holt - a violist who was kicked off the show last year with string quartet Ravan - was in the orchestra during the contest's final last night (08.06.13) when she ran forward to throw five eggs at the music mogul.

She was led away by security as confused opera act Richard and Adam Johnson completed their performance.

When Simon returned without his egg-covered jacket, he said: "I sent a tweet yesterday saying I don't like eggs. I really don't like them now.

"I've no idea what that was all about, so whoever's watching, I apologise."

Natalie has since said sorry to Simon, Richard and Adam for the incident.

She added: "I want to apologise to Richard and Adam for overshadowing their performance.

"I've never done anything like this before and in hindsight I have realised it was a silly thing to do."

Simon's fellow judge Amanda Holden also commented: "The only person who has egg on her face is that stupid cow."

After the attack, the 53-year-old star was visibly "shaken" as he was taken off stage to clean up but he will not be pressing charges.

A source revealed to The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "In the break between acts Simon was led off stage to sort himself out. He was obviously shaken.

"A few minutes later he appeared by the stage smoking a cigarette. I guess he was trying to calm his nerves.

"When he walked back on he was given a round of applause and David Walliams gave him a standing ovation ... Natalie was so grateful when she heard that Simon wasn't going to press charges."

The final was won by Hungarian shadow dancers Attraction, while 14-year-old comic Jack Carroll was the runner-up.
