Sir David Attenborough has vowed to continue working, despite being fitted with a pacemaker.
The 87-year-old broadcaster underwent emergency heart surgery in June, but he is determined to keep making shows at the same speed as he did beforehand because he insists the medical device allows him to continue what he enjoys doing rather than hinders him.
Speaking at the launch of his new nature film, 'Penguins 3D', he said: "If you're in your late 80s as I am, and your heart needs to be helped with collaborations, then it is easily fixed with one of these things [a pacemaker].
"You just go in for 24 hours and it's done. I don't think it has made me reassess my work at all, or any trips ahead.
"It allows one to continue the way one does until one can't, doing what I enjoy."
David had to reschedule a 'Life of Earth' speaking tour of Australia after going under the knife in June, but he went on the trip, during which he visited Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra and Perth, last month.
The documentary-maker was rushed to hospital to have a pacemaker fitted as his cardiologist told him he needed to have the operation after doctors discovered a heart defect.
