The 'Hollyoaks' actress - who has previously spoken candidly about her mental health struggles last year - has shared a harrowing video and lengthy statement with her followers to try to help anyone suffering in a similar way.

She captioned the heartbreaking post: "THIS IS NOT NOW, I'm in a really good place right now, I wanted to share this from what I went through last year.

"Makes me feel sick watching this, I just remember the darkness, body trembling I was that mentally mentally and physically exhausted!!!!

"I felt like my body gave in too not just my head, the only way I can describe it is everything shut down & I didn't have any thing left to restart it. (sic)"

In a note alongside her caption, Stephanie revealed she felt "total despair and helplessness" at the time.

She wrote: "To feel like your life isn't worth something is the worst feeling I've ever experienced in my life, total despair and helplessness that I wouldn't wish on anyone...

"And then I just got rapidly worse, I just gave up, I fought so hard to carry on to try, but I couldn't see a way out."

The 26-year-old star - who urged people to seek help and admitted her own recovery has been "one hell of a fight" - wants to "help others" with her post.

In the caption, she added: "Warning some may find the video distressing, I'm posting this to help others, it was a video I was sadly leaving behind. I've Never been in so much pain in my life, ever.

"I'm so proud of my self for how far I've come in such a short time with my amazing beautiful son, family and friends with their unconditional love & strength for carrying me when I could not walk my self to keely & all the staff who helped me too.

"The light it back. Everyone is fighting battles we don't know about. I know i have to carry on the message to help others, and I will!! Fighter, always have been always will be! We will make a change TOGETHER!!! (sic)"
