The 52-year-old journalist - who has fronted the ITV breakfast show alongside a variety of co-hosts such as Piers Morgan, Ed Balls, and Richard Madeley since 2014 - sets her alarm at 3:45am in order to get up for work but later has a nap in the afternoon and refuses to drink caffeine after lunchtime.

She said: "Thankfully, I love my job so I do bound out of bed. I think if you can have a nap, if you have the luxury of being able to do that, and I get myself back into bed, I find that that makes it better. I drink about eight cups of coffee. Or nine. I don't drink a full mug though, it's just little sips. They're brilliant in the green room, aren't they? But no caffeine after midday. I would not even have a cup of tea after midday because it would interrupt my sleep."

The former BBC Breakfast presenter - who has Sam, 21, Finn, 19, and 18-year-old Sam with ex-partner Dominic Cotton - went on to add that she doesn't "obsess" about constantly waking up in the night and believes that as long as she is in bed, she is having adequate rest.

Speaking on ITV's' Lorraine', she added: "I don't get rigid about my naps, I just Of course, sometimes when you've got small babies you get up then because that's the alarm. Don't obsess if you keep waking up. I tell myself that as long as I'm in bed, I'm resting. You don't actually need to be sleeping. If I'm feeling nervous or anxious, I'll visualise putting those feelings in a box and leaving them. That really works for me. If I'm feeling worried about things, I allocate - I'm not going to worry about that now in the middle of the night, I'm going to worry about it at five o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Usually, when you get to five o'clock the next afternoon, you've forgotten about it!"
