Tina Malone gave birth to a baby girl.
The 50-year-old actress took to her Twitter account today (17.12.13) to announce she has welcomed a daughter into the world two weeks before her due date, and she is looking forward to celebrating her and 31-year-old husband Paul Chase's new arrival over the festive period.
She tweeted: "proud to announce the arrival of our BABY GIRL,cant wait to spend xmas as a family.xxxx (sic)"
The former 'Shameless' star's good news comes just three days after she wrote in her newspaper column that she hoped her little one didn't arrive early.
In a piece for the Sunday Mirror newspaper, she wrote: "It's hard to believe I'm so close now. I just have to hope Flame decides to stick to the appointed date - December 31 - and not show up early!
"The last thing I need is to be rushed to hospital sooner than expected and have to rely on my husband to bring me my breast pads and nighties."
Tina and Paul revealed in February they were beginning IVF treatment but just a few months later they announced live on 'This Morning' that she was pregnant.
The actress was initially expecting twins but sadly revealed in June that one of her unborn babies had died.
She said: "I promptly burst into tears at the sight of two sacs and two embryos in my womb. Clinging onto my husband's hand, for a full minute I had twins. But then looking closely, I realised one of the babies was bigger and had a huge, wonderful heartbeat, while the other had no heartbeat at all.
"I was devastated, hysterical. But you've got to realise that things like that happen, and I've got to be grateful. I'm happy, healthy and so thankful for the baby I have growing inside me."
Tina's pregnancy is to be documented in a one-off 60-minute show, 'Tina Malone: Pregnant at 50', which will premiere in February 2014 on TLC UK.
