The 40-year-old actress - who plays Sarah Barlow in 'Coronation Street' - became involved n the showdown outside her £1 million house in Bramhall, Stockport, on March 15 after she stepped in to break up the fight and defend a 15-year-old girl - and a new report suggests she's being fully supported by her bosses at ITV.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Tina went straight to meet her 'Corrie' bosses this morning. She told them she was the victim here, and they have accepted that.

"They also think the incident has traumatised her so have been very sympathetic. Tina has been left really shaken and they told her to take a week off."

Video footage of the incident shows Tina attempting to break the fight up before being caught in the middle of it and she's heard saying: "Let go of her ... stop. Let go of her, I just said stop. Let go of her."

The mother of the girl defended by Tina has since praised the actress for stepping in to help after the group reportedly turned on the youngster in a fall-out over a boy.

The woman told The Sun: "Tina has been pretty brave in stepping in. Tina is only little herself and she was defending my daughter, so I am extremely grateful to her ...

"I have thanked her and would have done the same if it was my house."

The matter has since been reported to the police and an investigation has been launched. Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers are investigating reports of an assault in Stockport between 8pm and 9pm on 15 March."
