Tony Jacklin doesn't think Sir Bruce Forsyth is ready to retire.

The 69-year-old golfing legend - who was the first contestant voted off 'Strictly Come Dancing' along with professional partner Aliona Vilani - doesn't believe the show's presenter, 85, has any intention of giving up anytime soon, despite missing the weekend's show after falling ill.

Tony said: "He came in to my dressing room one day last week and we reminisced for about half an hour.

"He looked fantastic, I must say, for a man in his eighties. He looked amazing - but he is amazing.

"I just hope he hangs in there as long as he can. Obviously he's a pro but everything comes to an end some time.

"He never indicated to me that he's got any intention of retiring."

And the veteran sportsman can't understand why Bruce has come in for criticism, insisting he is as professional and polished as ever.

He added to The Sun newspaper: "I think Bruce's performance on the show is as good as it ever has been. When you talk about 'Strictly', you talk about Bruce. He and Tess Daly work so well together."
