will.i.am would like to see departing contestants on 'The Voice' get dunked.

The show's outspoken judge would love to see a forfeit brought into the live elimination rounds, which saw ratings dip after the Blind Auditions, where the judges pick their contestants solely by the sound of their voice.

He told Radio Times magazine: "It needs to be better than it was at the beginning.

"Something like where you could actually dunk them. 'I don't like 'em' and they're in the water'.

"An exit button and you just catapult them out."

will.i.am - the leader of pop group Black Eyed Peas - is also angry at how the career of the show's first winner, Leanne Mitchell has panned out, with her debut album only selling 900 copies in its first week, which he blames on her label taking almost a year to launch her.

He added: "The record company should be freakin' embarrassed. Somebody should be held accountable.

"These singers are on television every week. So you've already accomplished things stars don't accomplish. Do you wait a year later?

"Somebody should get slapped because you waited too long."
