Brendan Cole has hit out at "rude" bosses at Strictly Come Dancing over the lack of job security.

The 38-year-old professional dancer, who has been with the BBC One ballroom dancing competition since it started in 2004, admits it's frustrating that producers wait so long to tell them if they'll be brought back each year.

According to Brendan, the dancers are typically informed in May or June if they still have a job - six months after the end of the previous series.

He fumed: "We never know who is doing the next series until May or June. I think it's rude and horrible to us and you can't plot for the end of the year. If they don't use you, you'd think, 'How am I going to pay my mortgage?' So that is something you go through."

BBC recently confirmed dancers Artem Chigvintsev and James Jordan won't be back for the new series and Brendan worries about his own future on the show.

He added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "One day it will be me and I will be sad not to have 'Strictly' in my life. It has been lovely to have been there from the start."
