The 'Voice' winner - who was a former member of Liberty X - has claimed he could have starred in a number of programmes over the years but turned them down because he wanted to be known for his music and not for being a contestant in a "house" like 'Celebrity Big Brother'.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz, the singer-songwriter said: "I have been asked to do other things. I was not interested in going and doing something for just being, just do it for the sake of it for money, because I want to be a singer that why I come and did 'The Voice'. I don't want to be a celebrity like that, if people know me for my singing and music that's what I want, and if a bit of fame comes with that that's great but I wouldn't want to be famous for going in a house."

However, the 35-year-old star did cave and compete in 'The Games' alongside Kirsty Gallacher and Philip Olivier in 2005 but he's adamant it was only to lose weight.

He explained: "But if I'm honest I did 'The Games' because I got a bit tubby, and I thought it would be a good way to lose weight and it ended up being a great experience."
