Sally Bercow has been forced to pull out of The Jump after sustaining an injury.

The wife of John Bercow, the Speaker in the House of Commons, had been set to star on the Channel 4 reality competition, but pulled out after a nasty fall whilst training which saw her fracture two ribs.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper an insider revealed: "Sally's gutted. She wanted to continue."

As a result of the injury, Sally is to return to the UK in the next few days from Innsbruck in Austria.

Her decision to quit the show comes after Strictly Come Dancing professional Ola Jordan also had to withdraw because of a career-threatening knee injury.

This week saw Ola undergo an operation in order to save her dancing future.

A source close to her explained: "It has been a very worrying time for Ola - the type of injury she suffered can be career threatening."

Mike Tindall, Joey Essex and Heather Mills are all in line to still compete on the new series.
