The singer is delighted she'll join him, Ricky Wilson and Sir Tom Jones on the BBC One series and can't wait to get started.
He said: "Yeah I'm excited, I'm so happy she's doing it.
"She's going to be a great addition to the show. I can't wait."
Rita is determined to taste success in her first season, taking home the gold for one of her acts.
She explained: "So excited to be part of - and for my team to win - 'The Voice' this series! Let's have some fun will.i.am, Tom and Ricky!
"I'm really looking forward to the blind auditions and spinning in my big red chair."
