Mason Noise shunned the 'X Factor' finale last night (13.12.15) when his fellow former contestants gathered for a collaborative performance.

The controversial act decided not to join the likes of Sean Miley Moore, Anton Stephans and Lauren Murray at Wembley arena in London for a group rendition of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' upbeat track 'Downtown' and, instead, posted a cryptic tweet on his Twitter account.

As the fellow contestants took to the stage to perform together, Mason wrote: "I stand for what I believe in #AWE."

But that wasn't the only stir the talented singer caused as he also poked fun at One Direction's Liam Payne when he referred to him as one of "Harry Styles' backing singers."

Alongside a photograph of him posing with the 22-year-old star taken from earlier on in the series, he wrote: "One of the highlights of my experience, meeting one of Harry Styles' backing singers @onedirection #XfactorFinal #onedirection."

Meanwhile, Mason, who came under fire earlier on in the year when he stormed off stage following a heated argument with Simon Cowell, is set to appear in next year's 'X Factor' arena tour but it's not known if his behaviour since his departure has shot his chances of taking part.

Last night's show saw Louisa Johnson, 17, crowned the winner of 2015 after she beat runners-up Reggie 'N' Bollie.
