As Ashley (Steven Arnold) and Josh (Benjamin Beresford) set off on their holiday Claire's (Julia Haworth) still brooding over her row with the Mortons. She knows she'll have to give the stereo back but determined to get one good night's sleep she tells Jerry (Michael Starke) he'll have to wait till tomorrow. With Freddie asleep Claire settles down herself. But as she drifts off she's woken by the smoke alarm. Rushing to get Freddie she finds a fire raging through his room and the force of the heat sends her flying backwards down the stairs. As Claire lies unconscious the fire starts to take a hold of the house.Realising she's in deep water, Leanne's (Jane Danson) regretting having promised Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) to find him a villa and as Liam (Rob James-Collier) starts asking questions about her job she knows her game is nearly up. With nothing to offer Dev she heads to an awkward meeting at the Rovers, which isn't made any easier by Paul (Sean Gallagher) being there smirking. As she admits to Dev she can't help him Paul's not surprised and tells Liam to ask his girlfriend why. Realising the Connors are onto her, Leanne prepares to give Liam her sob story. But how will she explain what she's been up to? Liz (Beverley Callard) isn't happy when Steve (Simon Gregson) tries to fiddle the staff rotas to ensure he gets more time with Michelle (Kym Ryder).Elsewhere, Rosie (Helen Flanagan) seems to be spending more time hanging around Darryl (Jonathan Dixon) than she is on her revision, Kirk (Andrew Whyment) tries to put on a brave face around Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) and Rita (Barbara Knox) gets a shock when she calls the council to find out when Doreen's (Barbara Young) flat will be ready for her to move back in
