Liam (Rob James-Collier) and Maria (Samia Smith) can't bear to listen to her any longer, and sneak out to the back yard of the pub for the countdown. As they watch the fireworks together they agree to take a mini-break of their own. They seem very loved up, but will the new year bring happy times for Liam and Maria? Elsewhere, Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) gets totally sloshed and ends up snogging Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) as the clock strikes twelve and Becky (Katherine Kelly) ignores Kirk's (Andrew Whyment) attempt to kiss her and plants a big smacker on Jason (Ryan Thomas).
