Its the day of the wedding and as Liz (Beverley Callard) struggles with her nerves, she finally breaks down and reveals to Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) that seeing Jim (Charles Lawson) again has made wonder whether she's maing the biggest mistake of her life. She's realised she needs intense passion and danger in a relationship and shell never get that from Vernon (Ian Reddington), although she does care for him and knows she'll always be able to rely on him - she doesn't know if he's right for her. Torn over whether to go ahead with the sham marriage or to devastate Vernon by jilting him, Liz finally decides she can't go through with the wedding and asks Deirdre to tell the guests, while she tells Vernon. As Liz enters the Rovers back-yard she's shocked to find Jim, who reveals that he still loves her and knows she feels the same. Liz asserts that she hasnt loved him for years, but at the same time she can't tell him that she does love Vernon. Meanwhile, Vernon cant wait to get the show on the road and, realising hes forgotten Lizs wedding day gift, returns to the pub and enters the backyard to find Jim shouting to Liz about how Vernon doesnt deserve her. Vernon launches himself at Jim, who instantly flattens him with one punch. Steve (Simon Gregson) jumps in to split them up while Liz runs to Vernons side shouting that she never wants to see Jim again. Vernon is adamant that they go ahead with the wedding and Liz feels she has no choice but to marry him. Will Deirdre have told the guests the wedding is off? Will Liz regret her decision? Sarahs betrayal is still on Davids (Jack P Shepherd) mind and on Gails (Helen Worth) too, who feels guilty that she didnt trust him. Will David forgive Gail or will his bitterness cause him to revert to his old ways?Kevin (Michael Le Vell) has his sentencing hearing next week. Sally (Sally Whittaker) is terrified he may go to prison and cant hide her anger at Rosie (Helen Flanagan). Rosies hurt when Sally and Kevin tell her she shouldnt attend the wedding as Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) will be there. Later Sallys shocked when Rosie suggests she go back to private school. As they head out, still furious with her, Rosie realises that none of this is going to go away. How will she feel if her dad gets sent down?
