Kit doesn’t seem at all alarmed when James barricades her inside the house. He’s got it in his head that Kim’s trying to steal his bird and the baby which actually belongs to James. He tries to convince Kit that Kim’s been lying all this time about the baby being his. He’s not getting very far though, considering that he’s babbling in Kit’s face and, er, Kit might actually know who impregnated her. “We’re safe now, you don’t have to worry any more,” James lies. Kit does her best to stay calm and sit this episode out. Matilda arrives home, and hears the commotion inside. She peeks through the window and James screams in her face; she runs to get help. PsychoMatilda grabs Kim and Rachel; the three of them race back to the house where they scream and panic within full earshot of crazy James. This doesn’t help matters at all, particularly when Matilda hollers, “We need to call the police!” Kit’s complaining of a headache inside; it’s getting scary. Kim bashes the door down with remarkable ease and calls an ambulance. The crisis is over. Both Kit and James are safely tucked up in hospital, James diagnosed with drug induced psychosis. He wakes up with the worst hangover guilt known to mankind.

He’s desperate to explain himself to Kit, but she won’t see him. Rachel tries to comfort James, telling him he can get better with the right treatment, but he’s despondent. “Why bother?” He’s wrecked the relationship and lost Kit forever. Rachel vows to stick by him, taking him on as a patient, to Kim’s disgust.

Sending out an SOS After a disappointing first day at the crisis line, Cassie pops back to the office to pick something up. The phone rings; she panics before picking it up. It’s silent. She’s about to dismiss it as another prank call when a shaking female voice pipes up.

It’s a desperate young woman called Lily, and it sounds like she’s going through something Cassie’s knows a lot about. Shaken, Cassie gives Lily her mobile number. She knows she’s out of her depth, and fesses up to Dan.

Dan makes Cassie swear to keep him informed, and she does, when Lily rings back that evening begging Cassie to meet her – alone. Cassie is alarmed to see that bedraggled Lily is covered in bruises.

She’s starting to open up to Cassie when she spots Dan lurking in the shadows, and bolts. Cassie’s livid with Dan; Lily’s now thinks she’s betrayed her trust, and god knows what will happen to her now. The next morning, Cassie’s phone rings – it’s Lily. Cassie promises not to tell anyone from now on about their calls – it’s their secret.
