Despite being chased all the way by Geoff, Tam’s only concern is to get the money she’s just stolen from Viv straight to the diner till in the hopes of saving her mother’s reputation. There she’s shocked to find that Heather has not only managed to replace the missing $200 with her winnings but also opted to take the moral high ground when it comes to Tam’s attempts at covering for her through yet another theft. To make matters worse, Geoff’s later reaction to Irene’s news of Viv being $250 out of pocket sees him inadvertently reveal more than he ought about the culprit, leaving Heather and an unforgiving Tam to face the music – and Brad to miss a particularly important appointment.Food for thoughtMeanwhile, the clock is ticking in the counsellor’s office, where Sally anxiously waits for Brad to join her for their first session. As the minutes roll by and, with Brad still caught up in another family drama, Sally opens up about their troubles, it’s clear that a more straight-talking individual could not have been chosen to help her on her way. As this delightful lady helpfully points out, if Brad won’t even show up for a session Sally’s booked, how can she be so sure that they’re on the same page when it comes to their relationship? And, while Sally’s convinced that he’ll still show, her advisor remains confident about her prognosis. ‘Do you think Brad must have felt the same way on your wedding day?’ she asks pointedly, as she closes the session with a huge helping of food for thought.Sweet temptationIt’s the day of Viv’s party and, unable to find any staff for the Surf Club at such short notice, Ric manages to talk a reluctant Matilda into being waitress for the night. Unfortunately, his hopes of proving the innocence of his relationship with his not-so-mystery older woman are soon dashed when the celebrations get underway and, Viv’s wrong footing having left Matilda covered in a tray’s worth of drinks, she returns home to find a string of text messages from her on his phone.

Cassie’s advice sees a glammed-up Matilda return to the Surf Club in her little black dress, but the desired effect is evidently short lived. It’s the next day that, having promised to stay away from her, Ric and Viv find themselves sharing a kiss on the beach, where Matilda just so happens to be spending some time alone…
