As Rocco lies deathly still in his hospital bed, Sally stands over him with a furrowed brow. Go on, love, unplug his life support! You might as well carry on that grand Home and Away tradition. But if she were to finish what Ric started then it wouldn't do him any favours. His only hope of getting off his charges is if Rocco waking up and backing up his story. However, everyone in town is on his side. "If you did do it, I wouldn't blame you", squawks an unhelpful Colleen. "That boy's innocent", wheezes Alf, when he catches up with Peter. "I know it, and I reckon you know it too. Just don't give up on him, eh?" Later, even Matilda admits that she was wrong to presume her boyfriend guilty. But Ric admits that he's only been pushing her away because the truth is that he knows he could have done the deed given the opportunity. "I can't control my own anger", he sighs, which is a realisation that has come about three years too late... Oh, we knew that Amanda swapping her broomstick for an Audi TT was a mistake. As part of Kelli's next phase of ruining her sister's life, she gets her mate Ethan to fiddle with the fan belt. Like, scaree. What's she going to do next? Push over the empty milk bottles on the front step? Well, there's far more to it than tormenting Amanda with mild inconvenience. After breaking down in the middle of nowhere, the driver who comes to Mandy's rescue is none other than Ethan himself. As he rummages around under the bonnet, he implies that he'd like to have a good poke around in Amanda's underwear too. Although Amanda tells him he's barking up the wrong tree, she's clearly relishing the attention and even ends up taking his number. "You're a real gentleman", she coos, as somewhere in the distance Peter dies and comes back to life again. That afternoon, Amanda returns home and mentions her experience to Kelli. She asks her to keep quiet about it too; after all, she doesn't want to have to deal with Peter's jealous streak again. As far as Kelli is concerned, this is all going perfectly to plan. "She didn't suspect a thing", she gasps that evening, as Ethan leans in for a slobber. Yuck. Many have tried to get through to Ric in the past few days, and all of them have failed. So we're not sure why Martha is surprised when Ric tears her head off for deigning to offer some belated support. He storms off as Ash appears on the horizon. He's told Rianna that it's over; the kids know it too. They didn't take it well and it was the hardest thing he's ever had to do. Apparently. (You'll find out what we mean by that "apparently" later). Meanwhile, a grim-faced Peter receives the DNA test results from the scene of Rocco's attack. He heads straight to Summer Bay House, where he reveals that there were no traces of DNA from anyone other than Ric and Rocco found at the location. As he can't place anyone else there, there's only one thing he can do. "Eric Dalby", he drawls, "I am placing you under arrest for the attempted murder of Rocco Cooper." Ooh...
