Tony’s brooding in the dark, taking a moment to deal with Beth’s death. He’s not exactly jumping in his board shorts at the prospect of the memorial service – it’s just going to wrench up all those icky feelings again. Jack sits down and gently offers his assistance, but Tony mopes off to bed. He’s got more murky business to deal with the next day – Amanda and the giant gym stuff-up. He can’t believe Mandy left it till now to tell him what’s going on, in a misguided attempt to spare his feelings. The Mand solemnly informs Tony she’s going to have to sell the gym if she’s going to dish out for compensation. Needless to say, Amanda’s presence at the memorial service is about as welcome as that of a marmite smear in a margarine tub.The unwantedKim’s spitting daggers about the gym, too. Without a job, how’s he going to be able to support Kit and the sprog? A beefcake like him can’t just turn his hand to any old office job. Rachel gallantly assures him they’ll get by on her wage but Kim snaps back nastily, “I don’t want to just manage. I want to support my kid.” He stomps off to fuss and whine around Kit, who assures him she doesn’t need his money. Kim is deflated. This is a massive blow to his manhood. He realises he’s been a jerk to Rachel, and Kit shoos him off to apologise. Kim steals Rach from Hugh’s consoling arms to nuzzle her woodenly and agree they must make an effort to be nice to one another. Now that’s what we call romance. Sister of mercy

No sooner has Kelli sent Amanda away from the shambles of a gym than an evil a thunderclap rings out and Ethan slithers around the door. He wants a repeat performance on the rowing machine, but Kelli’s worried he’ll blow their cover.

“I’m going crazy locked up in that stupid little dump of a motel,” Ethan gasps, grappling with his flies. Kelli throws him a crumb – she’ll meet him at the pier when the rest of the Bay is at the memorial.

Later on, turfed out of said memorial, Amanda hits the grog again. “Thank you for sticking by me,” she sobs to her fish-eyed sister. “What do they say? All the bad things you do come back to haunt you.”

Kelli smirks in satisfaction, but she could be closer to rumble-ville than she thinks. While innocently zooming in on one of her art project photos, Belle spots Kelli and Ethan smooching on the pier.
