“Oh God,” Kit gasps, detaching her lips from Kim’s. “Where did that come from?” a baffled Kim demands. Kit feels ridiculous and is relieved when Tony interrupts. The next morning she breaks down on old Tone’s shoulder. She’s done an unbelievably stupid thing, and just wants to talk to her mum about it. When Kim calls round the next day, Kit masks her true feelings and puts the kiss down to her vulnerable emotional state; nothing deeper. Honestly. Kim plays along and they both agree not to tell Rachel. Loving memoryThe morning after night before, Hugh packs silently and leaves Rachel sprawled in the hotel bed. When she wakes up with a throbbing head she’s straight on the phone to Hugh. She can’t remember anything about last night; she’s worried she might have offended him. Far from it, ahem!

Rachel staggers home for a guilty apology and uncharacteristically passionate snog from Kim. It’s all too much for Hugh; he decides to move out.

Rachel and Kim try to convince him to change his mind – they’ll promise to keep their bickering to a minimum and hell, they need the cash.

Rachel makes an emotional plea for him to stay – he’s been her rock lately and she doesn’t want to lose him.

She’s pleased when he finally decides to stay, but puzzled when she discovers that the “emergency appendectomy” Hugh scarpered for that morning was fictional.

Too cool for school

It’s Jolly Jules’ first day at Summer Bay High. Certain perma-tanned students are less than pleased to see him grace their halls, especially when they find out Jules lied about going to see Lily.

Jules is bundled together with Mattie, Cassie and Drew for an English project and during their first study session, nosy old Cassie procures a letter to Lily out of his bag.

It’s beautiful and heartfelt, and she can’t understand why he didn’t give it to Lily. Jules opens up and admits that he was scared – he always ends up hurting the people he loves the most.

But when Cassie tries to put her arm around him, Jules gets all embarrassed, claiming he’s not into all this touchy feely stuff.

“Mate, do you have to be such a tosser?” Drew scowls. Nevertheless, Cassie starts to realise there’s a good heart underneath Jules’ bad boy façade.

She’s wrong, though. When she gets to school the next day, Jules has decked the halls with nasty posters of her. Oh, the rogue.
