When Sally tells her that Ric didn’t come home the night before, Cassie is quick to jump to conclusions – and, this time at least, they’re all the right ones. Although a visit to Viv’s caravan offers her nothing but a frosty reception, and a later chat with Ric sees him go on the defensive, she remains determined to prove her suspicions. Perseverance pays off when, Viv having decided to make a hasty exit from her current lodgings, Cassie’s sweep of the van leads her to finding the tie Ric wore to the formal: she knows they spent the night together. He may later give his assurances that Viv was never more than a shoulder to cry on, but how long will it be before Matilda finds out the bitter truth? With Cassie on the warpath, surely the clock is already ticking…Mum's the wordMeanwhile, with Lewis waiting to hear about a surgical rotation based out of town, Rachel is keen to spend every waking hour with her man while they still have the chance – even if this does come at a price to an unwitting Colleen, who picks the wrong day to go and visit her friend to offer some help around the home. Unfazed by the earlier intrusion, Rachel suggests Lewis return again that evening, explaining that they need to make the most of the lease, which runs out in two weeks’ time.

Lewis soon finds an answer to that by suggesting that they become permanent tenants, putting a glowing Rachel in the best of moods as she heads off to work – where there’s an even bigger surprise in store.
