‘My fiancé’s ex-wife trying on my wedding dress… Were you planning on walking down the aisle with Jack as well?” a mortified Sam asks Martha – who proceeds to add insult to injury by confessing that she’s managed to get herself stuck in said garment. It’s clear that she hasn’t suffered quite enough embarrassment for one day, though: Sam having made her exit in disgust, Jack is next to appear and, although shocked, can’t seem to draw his smiling eyes away from the spectacle before him. Touched by Martha’s explanation for what’s happened –the fact of Colleen criticising her over how unfeminine she looked in her wedding dress – Jack later fails to convince Sam that he shares her annoyance. Like a troubled Michael, she can only take all this as a sign of Martha’s wishful thinking, little suspecting that Jack himself is the one truly hoping for a change of bride. Stand by your manWhile most of Summer Bay’s residents remain occupied with Ryan’s farewell party – he’s opted for a life with Amanda in favour of joining Dan, Leah and VJ on the move to America – Martha’s latest faux pas continues to prey on the minds of all those involved. With Annie’s beloved pet Scruffy now out of the woods following the accident, Michael is spending most of his time trying to convince Martha to open up about her feelings for Jack, desperate to know whether or not their own relationship has a future. As Martha finally decides that it is Michael she wants, she decides it’s time to pay Sam a visit at the hospital – which, with Lewis and Rachel having called time on their relationship, is already a battleground – in an attempt to clear the air. Unsurprisingly, things soon descend into chaos, prompting a fuming Martha to leave without waiting for a security escort. Sam having ignored Rachel’s request to do the honours, Martha walks out to her car alone – and becomes the hospital attacker’s next target.
