After a heated argument with Cassie, Ric heads down to the beach to confront some of the guys currently staying at the caravan park over their rowdy behaviour – a group which just so happens to include the ever abusive Aden and his cousin Simon. To add to an already uncomfortable situation, Matilda then arrives ready to seek out the truth about her boyfriend’s affair. His reaction instantly tells her all she needs to know, and while she heads off to wallow in self-pity, he decides that it’s time to give Cassie a piece of his mind – only to be interrupted by Viv, keen to make sure that everyone knows her secret-blabbing was an honest mistake. By the time Ric eventually catches up with a heartbroken Matilda to insist that anything between him and his fancy woman is in the past – and to try his luck with the ‘we were on a break’ routine – it’s clear that theirs is a relationship beyond repair. Despite his promise to do anything it takes to get her to trust him again, they both know this is goodbye. Losing controlIn an attempt to wash the day away, Matilda catches up with Aden and his mates to tell them that, despite her earlier refusal, she’s had a change of heart and will join them at the party they’re having at Flat Rock Beach. Desperate to avert a crisis, Cassie sweet-talks Drew – who’s illegally supplied said party with alcohol – into driving her over there to check on her friend. Fortunately, differences are past forgotten as together Cassie and Matilda watch the scene around them descend into chaos – until, that is, designated driver Simon proves himself to be just as wasted as the next person, leaving them stranded in the middle of nowhere. As the only one left still capable of driving, all eyes turn to Cassie, who knows that she’ll be in trouble if she’s pulled over: as she’s still a P-plater, she is not only barred from taking more than one passenger but also bound to a 10pm curfew. With her friend quick to remind her that she’d never have come to the party had it not been for her lie, Cassie reluctantly gets behind the wheel – but when the guys become rowdy and start smoking pot, it’s not long before the distractions see her lose control of the car. Will everyone escape the crash unscathed?
