Seemingly selfless, Oliver offers Richard the gift of life, which emotional Richard accepts. Realising his brother is taking up where he left off bonds Declan and Oliver. When Elle hears Oliver is taking such a risk she tries to convince him otherwise, calling on Carmella for support. But Carmella believes Oliver is doing the right thing and challenges Elle on her deep love for Oliver, despite Elles conviction the relationship is over. Oliver comes through the surgery with flying colours but Richards life still hangs in the balance. Profoundly changed by the experience, Rebecca wants to hold legal proceedings until Richards well enough to face court, determined to make him face justice. When Kirsten organizes a family BBQ for Mickeys birthday she realises Ned has forgotten his sons big day. Oily lawyer Tim Collins urges her to work this to her advantage. Ned arrives with Mickey and is mortified to discover hes about to disappoint his son big time. However, Janae comes to the rescue with Lou and Harold and an armful of presents just in time to prevent Ned from looking like an insensitive father. Furious Janae warns Kirsten to stop playing games with her family. Kirsten is infuriated by Janaes interference and vents her frustrations to lawyer Tim, who thinks they may be able to use Janaes reactive personality to their advantage.
