The 38-year-old actor plays Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter in the BBC soap and his friend and former 'EastEnders' star Tamer Hassan says he's the best thing to happen to the show in a long time, although it isn't challenging for him as an actor.

Speaking at the premiere of new British action gangster movie 'Breakdown' at the Odeon in Covent Garden, Tamer, 47, told BANG Showbiz: "He's working, he likes to work Danny. He's a great movie star, he can't put a foot wrong can he. He likes marmite, you either love him or you hate him. He's Danny Dyer, he's a brand within himself and a great actor. He's not being challenged in 'EastEnders, it's a walk in the park for him but he's having a good time and I think he's grateful for the work. I mean come on, he saved the show, he saved the show right?"

And while Tamer thinks Danny is a huge asset to the soap, he believes his future is in movies.

He added: "So you know I hope he's not in there for 20 years though. I want him out I want to do a film with him. Well I'd like to kill his character now so he can start doing a film with me."

Meanwhile, the actor - who exclusively revealed he will star in the forthcoming seventh season of fantasy epic drama 'Game of Thrones' as a Dothraki soldier - admitted he would love to return to the BBC soap.

Asked if he would go back, he said: "Yeah I love to work and I love 'EastEnders' and I'm grateful for the giving me opportunity early on in my career. And I went back there again 10 years later. Absolutely, it's a great show."
