Richard Blackwood doesn't care if he gets axed from 'EastEnders.'

The 43-year-old actor may have only walked onto Walford as badboy bar owner Vincent Hubbard 11 months ago, but he's admitted he's not particularly bothered if BBC bosses decide to give him the chop in the next coming months.

He explained: "However long I've got, I don't mind. It's done so much for me about showing I am a credible actor.

"A lot of people didn't know I could do it. I've proved what I can do. So however long I'm there, I'll be grateful."

The handsome star made his first appearance on Albert Square in a live episode last February and, although his contract was only temporarily, he made such an impact on viewers that producers decided to make him permanent.

He told the Daily Star newspaper: "When I joined, I knew that if it went well then it would be extended."

And, although he's not too concerned if his career on 'EastEnders' comes crashing down, it seems Richard still has a little while left on the Square as his alter-ego is currently caught up in a war with the infamous Mitchell family.

But that's not all, as Vincent is the only person who knows about the brutal murder of Arthur 'Fatboy' Chubb (Ricky Norwood) on Boxing Day and is yet to reveal the truth.

Meanwhile, this year looks set to be a successful one for Richard as he's been nominated for Best Newcomer for his portrayal of Vincent at this year's National Television Awards.
