We got the chance to chat to Tyler about his past, present and future, asking questions about the new season of Hollywood Medium as well as his personal life. Read on to find out what he had to say…
Hollywood Medium is returning for a new season – why should viewers tune in this time round?
There are so many new clients coming in up in season 2 that I am excited for you all to see. They include the likes of Alan Thicke, Bobby Brown and Eva Longoria so a lot of diversity this season. You will also get to see a lot of the behind-the-scenes reactions from friends and families in the other room who watch the reading which adds a whole other dimension to the show.
You’ve got a slew of big name guests on the show, who were some of your favourites to work with?
I would say Alan Thicke and Bobby Brown were probably my favourite to work with this season. Their readings were incredibly profound and got a lot of validation from it.
Along with the show and your client pool, is there any other direction you’d like to take your talent in the future?
I do ultimately intend to tour as it would be great to do group readings. I would also love to have the opportunity to read people who can’t afford to go to LA.
You relocated to Los Angeles to serve your client pool better, what’s the experience of living in LA like?
It’s been so amazing to locate to an environment that is so receptive to what I do. I came from an environment that didn’t and was very conservative, so I can now fully embrace being different in Los Angeles.
There will be people out there who dispute your talent, what do you say to sceptics like that?
I would say that it is important to have a first-hand experience to fully understand something like this. After doing over a thousand readings and looking at my client’s testaments the details that come through are ones that can’t be googled. There are pieces of information that can’t be researched ranging from conversations and details that they have never talked about publically. These are the details that I aim to get when reading either a celebrity or an everyday person.
How do you balance your working life with your regular every-day life?
I would say that my ability doesn’t’ have an off switch but instead is more of a volume dial. When going about everyday life I try and switch that noise to becoming background noise, but have taught myself when to turn the volume up, such as in readings. When at home before a reading I also have to try and decompress and spend as much time alone before it.
What do your closest friends think of your gift?
My closest friends do come to me all the time about their personal life for advice but we have healthy boundaries!
You faced bullying in schools because of your talent, could you tell us a little bit about that and what would you say to youngsters that may be experiencing bullying?
I grew up in a very small conservative town and as a result there were a lot of people who didn’t like what I did. So I would say for anyone who is dealing with bullying, regardless if it’s not to do with being a medium, I know what it’s like to be alienated and feel different. The one thing that people used to make fun of me the most for, is now the thing that people admire. I would say that if you can stick to who you are as a person, that’s all that matters.
Finally, what else do you have coming up in the coming months that we should know about?
I’m excited for more additional episodes of Hollywood Medium and I’m now working on a second book after releasing my first one, ‘Between Two Worlds.’
